The beloved children’s book (beloved by adults as well) is transformed into a new musical by Nicholas Lloyd Weber and James D. Shields. A stellar cast from across the country gathers in Calgary under the direction of Dennis Garnhum – musical direction by Liz Baird and musical supervision by Simon Lee – to bring to life this classic story in its world premiere production.

The show is breaking Theatre Calgary records for ticket sales. It’s an irresistible combination of childlike fantasy and heartbreaking emotion. It’s mad, fantastical, and touching, driven by a score that incorporates thrilling symphonic orchestrations with chilling electric guitar, vaudevillian mania with cheeky latin attitude – all nestled in a ‘through the looking glass’ mindscape courtesy of Bretta Gerecke’s set and costumes and Lisa Stevens’ choreography.
